Our Mission
To enable the Balearic sea to recover its rich biodiversity and to thrive in harmony with a prosperous, environmentally conscious and proactive local population.
To enable the Balearic sea to recover its rich biodiversity and to thrive in harmony with a prosperous, environmentally conscious and proactive local population.
Our working group of scientists and divers work closely with the local authorities. Our aim is to create a network of MPA's (Marine Protected Areas) around the Balearics that are beneficial to all stakeholders, including local residents, the yachting industry, the fisheries and the tourism sector.
The Dos Manos initiative works twofold by promoting awareness and inspiring positive action among local communities. Through regular beach clean ups and our Dos Manos School programmes we teach future generations about issues related to plastic pollution and encourage innovative solutions.
As plastic pollution has become one of the biggest threats to our oceans we strive to integrate our “refuse single use” policy into all that we do, aiming to raise awareness, provide knowledge and bring positive solutions closer to individuals, companies and events, working together to reduce single use plastics.
Our scientific research programmes are carried out by our devoted working group of marine scientists, divers and volunteers. Our four year long Mallorca Stingray Survey has been portrayed in the short documentaries A Ray of Light & A Ray of Light II, and we will soon be planning our upcoming Seahorse Project.
